I won't lie to you, we've got something brilliant for you today! We spend quite a bit of time talking about Kickstarter wallets, because it seems like that is where the majority of minimalist wallets start out their life. A good proportion of this blog consists of Kickstarter offerings, and we even have a whole page dedicated to Kickstarter wallets. This all got us to thinking, what is the big picture behind all this Kickstarter wallet goodness (or terribleness in the case of some of the wallets).
There was only one way to answer that, so we trawled through the Kickstarter archives, gathering information from every single successfully funded wallet project between the 1st January 2014 and 18th May 2015. What we found was surprisingly interesting, so we made a fancy, ultra-snazzy infographic to show it to you in a way that will please both your mind and eyes. Good right!? Put frankly, it's ridiculously full of interesting facts and tidbits, as well as the most and least successful wallet projects to have graced the pages of Kickstarter.
Without further ado, scroll down and get stuck in. Just before you do though, you should know we had to squish it ever so slightly to fit it on this page. It's fine and still displays perfectly, but to see it in all it's 800 pixel wide glory, head on over to the original version on Piktochart.
For those of you who want more, you can feel free to delve into our spreadsheet where we collated all of the information on successful Kickstarter wallets. It's a bit messy, and not that exciting, but all the data is there. You can't edit the spreadsheet itself for obvious reasons, but feel free to lift the data and have a play around if that floats your boat. Be sure to let us know if you find any interesting little gems!
