Arkin Launches Leather Wallets and Accessories

Here at Slim Wallet Junkie, most of the new wallets we see are from the USA. It just seems they've caught the everyday carry bug a little bit more than us Brits. Don't get us wrong, we've got nothing against this, a large percentage of our readers are from North America, and we've got a lot of love for you! However, as a UK based site, we can't help but get a little bit excited when we come across UK (or even European) wallet designers, like Manchester based SolidDesign, who just get it right. 

As such, we were pretty excited to hear about Arkin, a UK based company who have come up with some beautiful leather wallets. Welcome to the party Arkin, we're glad to have you join this little British love-in!

About Arkin

Based in Wiltshire, and specialising in creating handcrafted premium leather goods, Arkin first came to our attention with a hugely successful Flip Wallet Kickstarter by designer Elizabeth Drew back in 2013. Since then the brand seems to have gone from strength to strength as Elizabeth looked at ways to expand, whilst incorporating her many passions. Creating a leather goods collection was a logical and exciting step.

Elizabeth explains that ARKIN began as a response to the limited choice of compact wallet options on the market:

"I felt that all the wallets on the market at the time were uncomfortably and unnecessarily bulky. I was looking for a way to carry only the cards and notes that I needed on a daily basis. I have continued this thinking through into the new leather collection, seen in the minimal design of the Kingsley Card Sleeve."

Given what this site is founded on and dedicated to, that definitely chimes with us, and we respond by saying: "preach it sister, we hear you!"

Aesthetically fusing both rugged and minimalist elements within it's designs, ARKIN has created a modern collection with appeal to those who appreciate a fuss free approach to life. Elizabeth told us:

"I designed the collection to be used by both men and women, anyone who is drawn to the timeless quality of leather. I think the days of fast fashion are on their way out, people are looking to buy less and buy better, and to also support smaller homegrown brands with a direct connection via the shared experiences of the designer and customer".

The collection is designed to be stylish, durable and made for use throughout the British seasons. The range covers a wide variety of tastes and budgets, with items ranging from £16 for the Mini Key Fob to £75 for the classic Harrison Bi-Fold, with plenty of card holders, coin pouches and travel holders in-between. All styles are currently available in Light Brown, Dark Brown and Black premium veg-tanned leather.
