Managing your finances and money may not be something you like doing, but get it right and it can help you save up for the things you really want. Plus, your slim wallet, whilst it might be totally on-trend will really thank you in the future!
Set up a budget
Setting yourself a weekly or monthly budget will mean that you’ll be less likely to overspend and you’ll be able to set aside a little extra for your “rainy day fund” or that holiday you want to book. Get into the habit of working out exactly how much you need each week; include things like your bills, weekly food shopping, your commute etc. so you can budget effectively.
If you really want to stay on track and stick to a budget, take out a small weekly sum of money at a cash machine and don’t use your credit card (at all!). Whilst cards are great, it can be easy to overspend. Taking out enough money to cover your weekly latte, your fuel and anything else you need to spend will help you stick to your budget easier.
Coffee to go
Consider switching your morning latte with your own homemade coffee to go. Switch up your fancy work lunches, with healthy packed lunches. Maybe even walk some of the journey for an exercise boost that saves you some money. All the little things can add up, plus you might even find the healthier options are great money motivators to keep going.
Did someone say free?
Are you signed up to any store loyalty cards? We don’t recommend you sign up for cards that you’ll need to pay back or act like store credit cards, but we do think the free points and loyalty cards are a great way to save a little extra money. Collect enough and your shop might even be free (make sure to check the store’s terms and conditions first!). We always carry around our loyalty cards that’s why a slim wallet was a perfect choice for us, less bulge and more space to carry them! Plus, you might want to keep in mind that some stores offer double points, check out their websites and double up when you can.
We ALL love a good bargain! Be a savvy shopper; shop around for the best deals. Use price comparison websites, or even a quick Google search to show you the product you want for less. Or, shop the sales for an even better price on an item – shop our sale here.
